India’s transportation domain is witnessing a massive transformation. It is a matter of pride that Amnex is playing a pivotal role as a leading technology solution provider in the field, with more than 20 ITMS projects running nationwide. Amnex has recently secured a significant contract as a consortium partner with Chennai Smart City Limited (CSCL) to implement an Intelligent Transportation System (ITMS) in the bustling Chennai Metropolitan Area. This success speaks volumes about our dedication, expertise, and relentless pursuit of excellence in providing cutting-edge technology solutions in transportation.
Chennai, the vibrant capital of Tamil Nadu, is known for its rapid urbanization and ever-increasing traffic challenges. With a population of over 10 million people, the city faces daily traffic congestion and transit issues. Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive, intelligent approach incorporating advanced technologies and efficient management systems. Amnex has been shouldered with the responsibility to implement ITMS solutions in Chennai Metropolitan Area. In this monumental project, we focus on improving transit operations, working closely with the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) and Chennai Traffic Police.
Our responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks to ensure seamless transportation operations and enhanced commuter experiences. Amnex will be installing Automatic Vehicle Location Systems (AVLS), Public Information Systems (PIS), Planning & Scheduling Systems (P&S), and Depot Management Systems (DMS) across the MTC’s fleet of 3500 buses. This includes integrating On-Board Units (OBU) in 560 new buses, installing OBUs on 2940 existing buses, and deploying PIS boards, a Commuter Mobile App (Android & iOS), and a dedicated website.
Additionally, we will set up PIS installations at 616 bus terminals, depots, and bus shelters, empowering commuters with real-time information. We will install 62 biometric attendance systems at 31 depots to ensure efficient operations, optimizing workforce management and accountability.
