How women play a pivotal role in shaping up an organization

International Women’s Day

Every year, on the 8th of March, International Women’s Day is celebrated to acknowledge the economic, political, social and cultural achievements of women from all walks of life. From running households to governing countries, women have come a long way.

Not descending into gender stereotypes, a global analysis showcased that the countries led by women managed the pandemic outbreak better than the other countries. This is because female leaders ordered lockdowns much earlier, taking less risk with lives and more with the economy whereas men did the opposite. Regardless to say that pandemic deaths and economic loss became intertwined after a point in time.

Women’s strength lies in making bold and wise decisions while being empathetic. A study conducted at the University of Georgia and Columbia University also found that women are better learners, more attentive, flexible and organized.

Women sometimes are told to ‘think like a man’. Actually, thinking like a woman is their strength. They have innate qualities like empathy, strategic thinking and multitasking that help them excel at work and other walks of life.

Their multitasking role demands them to have a backup plan ready, always. Their inherent quality to come up with alternate solutions can help organizations navigate through difficult times. With all these inborn qualities, over the years, women have played a pivotal role in shaping up organizations at large.

Sharmishta Dubey, Revathi Advaithi, Sonia Syngal, Leena Nair, Falguni Nayar, Gita Gopinath, the list of women making a strong impact in the business world is long. With qualities like compassion and farsightedness, women are playing a crucial role in setting up a new culture in different areas of work. Their indomitable spirit and ever-expanding energy are precious resources that help the organization thrive.

The world needs more feminine energy in the leadership role to make empathetic, progressive and constructive decisions, especially in the era when we are witnessing a brutal war between two countries.
