Modern solutions for modern challenges: How our tech ensure optimal use of resources

Of late, climate change has become a matter of grave concern for countries across the globe. India is no exception. Therefore, nations have shifted their stance towards building not just ‘smart cities’, but ‘climate resilient’ cities.

India has set an ambitious goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2070. To achieve the target, the country has shared a Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LTS) in November 2022.  Apart from finding alternatives, using available resources utmost judiciously is paramount for achieving this target. Technology can play a pivotal role in ensuring that resources are astutely utilized.

The strategy focuses on the rational utilization of natural resources with due regard to energy security. It goes without saying that promoting electric vehicles over ICEs is the government’s top priority. Technology facilitates this transition by providing accurate data on the vehicle’s state-of-charge and availability of distributed energy resources.

Moreover, technology can play a crucial role in ensuring the mindful usage of precious resources like water and power. Both are the driving force behind developing society. However, a study suggests that about 30% of the water used per head is wasted in India. Similarly, the amount of electricity wasted is also shockingly huge.

Leveraging the right technology can help the country reach its net zero targets sooner by enabling cities and citizens to utilize these precious resources optimally and judiciously. We have developed technology solutions to help authorities plan and monitor efficient water, power, oil and gas distribution systems. Using real-time information, technology can help monitor consumption, wastage and leakage. It prompts actions when required and ensures the smooth and smart operation of facilities. Moreover, using technologies like AI, ML and predictive analytics, these solutions can help authorities understand human behaviour and consumption practices.

When it comes to reducing emissions, wise utilization of resources is equally important as finding alternatives. Technology can be a key driver in both endeavours.
