Prometheus

Metrics and alerting that support day-to-day operations

We provide Prometheus consulting, deployment, monitoring integration, alert development, and technical support. We help organizations establish metrics collection and alerting for infrastructure, applications, and platform services using the open source Prometheus ecosystem.

A practical foundation for your team

Our services cover monitoring architecture, exporters, application instrumentation, PromQL, recording rules, alert routing, and platform maintenance. We work with your developers and operators to define the signals that matter and connect those signals to useful investigation and response procedures.

Monitoring is useful when it helps people understand service behavior and decide what action to take. Too many labels, unreliable collection, or poorly defined alerts can make that harder rather than easier.

We help your team build a maintainable metrics foundation, with clear ownership of targets, rules, alerts, and the monitoring platform itself.

What we do

Our Prometheus Services

01 / 10

Monitoring Architecture and Assessment

Plan metrics collection around the systems and operating questions it must support. We review target counts, metric volumes, retention needs, network access, and availability requirements before defining a Prometheus architecture and implementation sequence.

  • Monitoring requirement assessment
  • Target and metric inventory
  • Retention and capacity planning
  • Availability architecture review

02 / 10

Deployment and Target Configuration

Establish Prometheus with validated collection and documented settings. We configure scrape jobs, target discovery, storage, and connectivity, then verify that the selected systems are reporting the expected metrics and that collection failures are visible.

  • Prometheus installation
  • Scrape and discovery configuration
  • Target connectivity validation
  • Deployment documentation

03 / 10

Exporter and Platform Integration

Connect infrastructure and services through suitable exporters and native metrics endpoints. We review exporter compatibility, permissions, collection cost, and label behavior so that teams understand both the usefulness and the operating requirements of the added monitoring.

  • Exporter selection and setup
  • Infrastructure and service metrics
  • Permission and endpoint review
  • Collection quality checks

04 / 10

Application Instrumentation

Help developers expose metrics that describe application behavior. We review counters, gauges, histograms, and labels in relation to request flows and operating questions, then validate how the metrics can be queried and used during investigation.

  • Metric naming and design
  • Client library integration
  • Request and error instrumentation
  • Label and cardinality review

05 / 10

PromQL and Recording Rule Development

Build queries and recording rules that turn raw measurements into understandable operational signals. We review metric semantics, aggregation, and time behavior, testing expressions against expected conditions so that dashboards and alerts use appropriate calculations.

  • PromQL query development
  • Aggregation and rate calculations
  • Recording rule configuration
  • Query correctness and cost review

06 / 10

Alerting and Response Integration

Develop alerts around conditions that require action. We configure alert rules and Alertmanager routing, grouping, and notification behavior, then test the delivery path and document the investigation information operators need when an alert arrives.

  • Alert rule design
  • Alertmanager configuration
  • Notification and escalation integration
  • Alert testing and runbooks

07 / 10

Performance, Cardinality, and Retention

Investigate monitoring platform growth and slow queries. We review series counts, labels, scrape frequency, storage use, and query patterns before testing changes that make collection and querying more manageable without discarding the signals operators need.

  • Time-series cardinality analysis
  • Storage and retention review
  • Scrape and query tuning
  • Capacity trend reporting

08 / 10

Reliability, Upgrades, and Long-Term Integration

Prepare the monitoring platform for failure and maintenance. We review redundancy, configuration recovery, available snapshot procedures, and remote storage integration where selected, and validate collection and alerting after changes to the environment.

  • Redundant collection design
  • Configuration backup and recovery
  • Remote storage integration assessment
  • Upgrade and alert validation

09 / 10

Technical Support

Get help with missing targets, failed scrapes, high cardinality, storage growth, expensive queries, broken rules, and missed notifications. We examine the available evidence, coordinate investigation across the relevant components, and help your team identify corrective actions.

Support arrangements define the covered environment, service hours, communication channels, priorities, and escalation process. This gives your team a clear route for requesting assistance and following an issue through investigation, validation, and closure.

  • Incident investigation and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and integration assistance
  • Root-cause analysis within the agreed scope
  • Resolution guidance and incident documentation

Training and Knowledge Transfer

Build practical understanding of metrics design, exporters, PromQL, recording rules, Alertmanager, cardinality management, and monitoring platform operations. We tailor sessions to the environment and the responsibilities of the people developing, administering, and supporting it.

Workshops can use your configuration, representative examples, and agreed operating scenarios. Documentation and runbook walkthroughs help your team apply the knowledge after the engagement.

  • Role-focused technical workshops
  • Configuration and workflow walkthroughs
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
  • Documentation and operational handover

A practical approach to Prometheus

We start with the questions operators need to answer and the conditions that require a response. Queries and alerts are tested against realistic events, with ownership, expected behavior, and investigation steps documented alongside their configuration.

We agree the work and acceptance checks with your team, validate changes in a suitable environment, and document the outcome. Clear handover makes the configuration, operating procedures, and next actions easier to maintain after delivery.

Supported Versions and Support Hours

Supported versions

Versions below were confirmed against upstream release information on 15 October 2026. We reconfirm them at the start of each engagement.

  • Prometheus 3.13 LTS (upstream fixes to 31 July 2027).

Support hours

Standard support is delivered in business hours, Monday to Saturday, India Standard Time. Coverage hours, response targets and escalation steps for each severity are defined in the service agreement. Upstream response times are outside our control.
