Apache AGE

Graph capabilities within your PostgreSQL environment

We provide Apache AGE consulting, implementation, graph modeling, query development, and technical support for organizations bringing connected-data analysis into PostgreSQL. We help teams explore relationships between entities while retaining a clear view of the underlying database environment.

A practical foundation for your team

From a first graph use case to an existing application that needs attention, we work with your developers and database administrators to plan the extension, model relationships, validate queries, and establish maintainable operating practices.

Graph workloads introduce questions about relationship structure, traversal depth, data loading, and query behavior. These choices need to be considered alongside PostgreSQL configuration, access, maintenance, and recovery.

Our services address the graph layer and its database dependencies together, helping your team move from a promising use case to an implementation it can understand and support.

What we do

Our Apache AGE Services

01 / 10

Use-Case Assessment and Architecture

Determine where graph analysis can help your application and what data it will require. We review the proposed questions, relationship patterns, and integration boundaries before recommending how Apache AGE should fit into the PostgreSQL environment.

  • Connected-data use-case assessment
  • Relational and graph design review
  • Workload and capacity planning
  • Implementation roadmap

02 / 10

Extension Installation and Configuration

Introduce Apache AGE with attention to PostgreSQL and extension compatibility. We prepare the build or installation approach, configure the environment, and validate that the extension works with the selected application connections and operating procedures.

  • Version compatibility review
  • Extension deployment and setup
  • Connection configuration
  • Functional acceptance checks

03 / 10

Graph Data Modeling

Design vertices, edges, labels, and properties around the relationships your application needs to explore. We help your team define identifiers and modeling conventions that make graph data easier to load, query, and maintain.

  • Vertex and edge modeling
  • Property and identifier conventions
  • Relationship direction review
  • Model documentation and validation

04 / 10

Data Loading and Synchronization

Prepare a repeatable path from source data to graph structures. We map entities and relationships, establish validation checks, and review how updates should be applied so that the graph remains useful as source information changes.

  • Source-to-graph mapping
  • Initial data loading
  • Update and reconciliation procedures
  • Data quality exception handling

05 / 10

Graph Queries and Application Integration

Help developers use SQL and Cypher-style graph queries appropriately within the application. We review query results, parameters, connection behavior, and error handling so that graph capabilities are integrated through clear application interfaces.

  • Graph query development
  • SQL and graph integration
  • Application connection testing
  • Result and error handling review

06 / 10

Query Performance and Troubleshooting

Investigate expensive traversals and slow database activity with representative data. We examine query structure, graph design, PostgreSQL execution behavior, and resource usage before recommending changes and testing their effect on application response times.

  • Traversal and query analysis
  • Graph model refinement
  • Database resource review
  • Workload comparison and validation

07 / 10

Database Operations and Recovery

Keep Apache AGE within an operational plan for the PostgreSQL database that hosts it. We review access, monitoring, backup, and restore procedures, including checks that recovered environments retain the required extension and graph functionality.

  • Database access review
  • Graph workload monitoring
  • Backup and restore validation
  • Extension dependency documentation

08 / 10

Upgrades and Change Management

Plan changes across the extension, PostgreSQL, and application code as a coordinated activity. We check compatibility, rehearse the proposed change, and validate graph objects and queries before supporting the agreed production rollout.

  • Extension and database compatibility assessment
  • Upgrade rehearsal
  • Graph query regression checks
  • Rollback and handover planning

09 / 10

Technical Support

Get help with extension loading issues, graph query errors, data loading failures, traversal performance, and database integration problems. We examine the available evidence, coordinate investigation across the relevant components, and help your team identify corrective actions.

Support arrangements define the covered environment, service hours, communication channels, priorities, and escalation process. This gives your team a clear route for requesting assistance and following an issue through investigation, validation, and closure.

  • Incident investigation and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and integration assistance
  • Root-cause analysis within the agreed scope
  • Resolution guidance and incident documentation

Training and Knowledge Transfer

Build practical understanding of graph modeling, Cypher-style queries, extension administration, data validation, and PostgreSQL operating procedures. We tailor sessions to the environment and the responsibilities of the people developing, administering, and supporting it.

Workshops can use your configuration, representative examples, and agreed operating scenarios. Documentation and runbook walkthroughs help your team apply the knowledge after the engagement.

  • Role-focused technical workshops
  • Configuration and workflow walkthroughs
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
  • Documentation and operational handover

A practical approach to Apache AGE

We start with the relationship questions your application must answer, then validate the graph model and queries against realistic data. The handover includes the PostgreSQL dependencies that administrators need to preserve during maintenance and recovery.

We agree the work and acceptance checks with your team, validate changes in a suitable environment, and document the outcome. Clear handover makes the configuration, operating procedures, and next actions easier to maintain after delivery.

Supported Versions and Support Hours

Supported versions

Versions below were confirmed against upstream release information on 15 October 2026. We reconfirm them at the start of each engagement.

  • Apache AGE 1.7 and 1.8 on PostgreSQL 18. Other AGE and PostgreSQL combinations are checked against the project's release mapping before work starts.

Support hours

Standard support is delivered in business hours, Monday to Saturday, India Standard Time. Coverage hours, response targets and escalation steps for each severity are defined in the service agreement. Upstream response times are outside our control.
