Apache Kafka

Event streaming infrastructure built for dependable operations

We provide consulting, deployment, migration, administration, and technical support for Apache Kafka open source software. We help organizations establish and maintain event streaming infrastructure for application integration, data pipelines, and real-time processing.

A practical foundation for your team

Our services address the broker platform and the applications that use it. We work with your infrastructure, data, and development teams to review topic design, delivery behavior, security, performance, and recovery, with clear operating procedures for the environment you run.

Kafka reliability depends on more than the number of brokers in a cluster. Partitioning, replication, retention, client settings, and consumer processing all influence the behavior of an event pipeline.

We help your team understand these relationships and make practical decisions about capacity, availability, and the management of change.

What we do

Our Apache Kafka Services

01 / 10

Architecture and Capacity Planning

Design Kafka around event volumes, retention needs, and application dependencies. We review broker and controller topology, partition requirements, storage growth, and failure assumptions to establish a platform architecture that your operations team can maintain.

  • Event workload assessment
  • Broker and controller planning
  • Storage and retention sizing
  • Availability and recovery design

02 / 10

Cluster Deployment and Configuration

Prepare the selected Kafka deployment with validated connectivity and documented operating settings. We configure brokers and controllers, establish administrative access, and test producer and consumer behavior before supporting the agreed production rollout.

  • Installation and cluster setup
  • KRaft configuration review
  • Network and client connectivity
  • Production readiness checks

03 / 10

Topic and Event Design

Help application teams organize events and topics with a clear understanding of ordering, retention, and consumption patterns. We review partition keys and topic settings alongside the business meaning and lifecycle of the information being published.

  • Topic and partition strategy
  • Key and ordering requirements
  • Retention and compaction configuration
  • Event contract review

04 / 10

Producer, Consumer, and Connector Integration

Connect applications and data systems to Kafka with explicit delivery and error-handling behavior. We investigate client configuration, processing boundaries, and connector dependencies so that teams can reason about retries, offsets, and downstream effects.

  • Producer and consumer configuration
  • Kafka Connect integration
  • Offset and retry handling
  • End-to-end delivery testing

05 / 10

Performance Tuning and Lag Investigation

Investigate throughput limits and delayed consumption using broker and application evidence. We review partition distribution, client batching, storage and network pressure, and consumer processing so that tuning addresses the stage limiting the pipeline.

  • Consumer lag analysis
  • Broker resource investigation
  • Client batching and compression review
  • Throughput and latency testing

06 / 10

Security and Access Administration

Configure access to Kafka according to the environment's authentication and authorization requirements. We review encrypted connections, identities, topic permissions, and operational access, and document how credentials and configuration changes will be managed.

  • TLS and authentication setup
  • Topic and group authorization
  • Administrative access review
  • Credential rotation procedures

07 / 10

Monitoring, Replication, and Recovery

Prepare operators to recognize broker or replication problems and act on them. We configure relevant monitoring, assess topic replication settings, and test agreed failure and recovery scenarios, including dependencies on clients and external systems.

  • Broker and replication monitoring
  • Under-replicated partition investigation
  • Failure and recovery exercises
  • Operational runbooks and reporting

08 / 10

Migration, Upgrades, and Ongoing Maintenance

Plan Kafka changes around broker, controller, connector, and client compatibility. We help rehearse upgrades or migrations, validate event delivery, and prepare rollback or recovery arrangements appropriate to the change and its data implications.

  • Version compatibility assessment
  • Cluster migration planning
  • Upgrade execution and validation
  • Capacity and maintenance reviews

09 / 10

Technical Support

Get help with consumer lag, broker instability, replication issues, connector failures, authentication errors, and event delivery problems. We examine the available evidence, coordinate investigation across the relevant components, and help your team identify corrective actions.

Support arrangements define the covered environment, service hours, communication channels, priorities, and escalation process. This gives your team a clear route for requesting assistance and following an issue through investigation, validation, and closure.

  • Incident investigation and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and integration assistance
  • Root-cause analysis within the agreed scope
  • Resolution guidance and incident documentation

10 / 10

Training and Knowledge Transfer

Build practical understanding of topic administration, producer and consumer behavior, monitoring, capacity management, security, and recovery procedures. We tailor sessions to the environment and the responsibilities of the people developing, administering, and supporting it.

Workshops can use your configuration, representative examples, and agreed operating scenarios. Documentation and runbook walkthroughs help your team apply the knowledge after the engagement.

  • Role-focused technical workshops
  • Configuration and workflow walkthroughs
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
  • Documentation and operational handover

A practical approach to Apache Kafka

We follow an event from its producer through the cluster to the consuming application. This helps separate platform issues from application processing limits and makes delivery expectations, failure scenarios, and operational responsibilities easier to define.

We agree the work and acceptance checks with your team, validate changes in a suitable environment, and document the outcome. Clear handover makes the configuration, operating procedures, and next actions easier to maintain after delivery.

Supported Versions and Support Hours

Supported versions

Versions below were confirmed against upstream release information on 15 October 2026. We reconfirm them at the start of each engagement.

  • Apache Kafka 4.x in KRaft mode. Current upstream releases are 4.3.1, 4.2.2 and 4.1.2, and upstream fixes only the last three releases.

ZooKeeper-based clusters were removed upstream in Kafka 4.0. We support migration to KRaft.

Support hours

Standard support is delivered in business hours, Monday to Saturday, India Standard Time. Coverage hours, response targets and escalation steps for each severity are defined in the service agreement. Upstream response times are outside our control.
