NeMo Guardrails

Testable guardrail workflows for your AI applications

We provide consulting, implementation, integration, and technical support for the open source NeMo Guardrails toolkit. We help application teams define and evaluate guardrail behavior around language-model interactions, using the toolkit's configuration and integration capabilities.

A practical foundation for your team

Our work focuses on application requirements, policy implementation, workflow testing, and ongoing maintenance. Model endpoints and other external services are selected and licensed separately. We work with your developers and policy owners to make the intended controls and their limits clear.

Guardrails need to be tested against the actual application, its users, and its failure scenarios. They can help manage risk, but their effectiveness depends on policy design, model behavior, integration, and evaluation.

We help your team establish evidence-based tests and operating practices so that guardrail changes can be assessed as the application evolves.

What we do

Our NeMo Guardrails Services

01 / 10

Application and Policy Assessment

Define what the application should allow, redirect, or reject and where guardrails belong in the workflow. We review user journeys, model dependencies, sensitive data concerns, and operational constraints with the people responsible for the application and its policies.

  • AI workflow assessment
  • Policy requirement workshops
  • Guardrail placement planning
  • Evaluation scope and success criteria

02 / 10

Toolkit Setup and Configuration

Prepare NeMo Guardrails within the selected application environment. We configure the toolkit and supported model connections, validate runtime dependencies, and document the configuration and service relationships that developers need to reproduce the implementation.

  • Toolkit installation and setup
  • Model endpoint configuration
  • Runtime dependency validation
  • Configuration documentation

03 / 10

Rail and Conversation Flow Development

Implement guardrail logic using the toolkit capabilities appropriate to the use case. We help develop supported input, output, dialog, retrieval, or action-related controls, with clear handling for allowed, rejected, and redirected interactions.

  • Rail configuration
  • Colang flow development where appropriate
  • Custom action integration
  • Decision and fallback behavior

04 / 10

Application and Model Integration

Connect the guardrail layer to the application request path and selected model services. We review input and output handling, streaming where required, errors, and timeouts so that application behavior remains understandable when a dependency fails.

  • Application API or SDK integration
  • Model service connectivity
  • Error and timeout handling
  • End-to-end interaction testing

05 / 10

Policy Test Suites and Evaluation

Create repeatable tests for the intended guardrail behavior. We assemble representative normal and adversarial examples, define expected outcomes, and review false positives and missed cases so that configuration changes can be judged using practical evidence.

  • Policy test case development
  • Adversarial scenario evaluation
  • False-positive and miss analysis
  • Regression result reporting

06 / 10

Retrieval and Tool Workflow Controls

Review guardrail behavior around retrieved content and application actions. We help configure relevant checks and boundaries while coordinating with application-level authorization, data access, and tool execution controls that remain essential parts of the overall design.

  • Retrieved content handling
  • Tool and action boundary review
  • Context and response checks
  • Workflow exception testing

07 / 10

Performance and Operational Observability

Assess the effect of guardrails on application response time and operating effort. We review added model calls, service failures, logs, and outcome reporting, with attention to handling sensitive content in diagnostic records.

  • Latency and dependency analysis
  • Guardrail outcome monitoring
  • Error and fallback investigation
  • Diagnostic data handling review

08 / 10

Version Changes and Ongoing Maintenance

Keep policies and integration behavior under review as models, prompts, and application code change. We organize configuration versioning, compatibility checks, and regression evaluation before supporting release into the production application.

  • Policy configuration version control
  • Toolkit and model compatibility review
  • Regression evaluation
  • Release and rollback procedures

09 / 10

Technical Support

Get help with configuration errors, unexpected policy decisions, flow failures, model connectivity problems, integration exceptions, and latency increases. We examine the available evidence, coordinate investigation across the relevant components, and help your team identify corrective actions.

Support arrangements define the covered environment, service hours, communication channels, priorities, and escalation process. This gives your team a clear route for requesting assistance and following an issue through investigation, validation, and closure.

  • Incident investigation and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and integration assistance
  • Root-cause analysis within the agreed scope
  • Resolution guidance and incident documentation

Training and Knowledge Transfer

Build practical understanding of rail configuration, policy flows, test case development, evaluation results, application integration, and maintenance workflows. We tailor sessions to the environment and the responsibilities of the people developing, administering, and supporting it.

Workshops can use your configuration, representative examples, and agreed operating scenarios. Documentation and runbook walkthroughs help your team apply the knowledge after the engagement.

  • Role-focused technical workshops
  • Configuration and workflow walkthroughs
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
  • Documentation and operational handover

A practical approach to NeMo Guardrails

We define expected behavior before implementing a policy and evaluate both useful requests and misuse scenarios. The handover records observed limitations and the application controls that complement the guardrails, helping your team assess future changes with repeatable tests.

We agree the work and acceptance checks with your team, validate changes in a suitable environment, and document the outcome. Clear handover makes the configuration, operating procedures, and next actions easier to maintain after delivery.

Supported Versions and Support Hours

Supported versions

Versions below were confirmed against upstream release information on 15 October 2026. We reconfirm them at the start of each engagement.

  • NeMo Guardrails 0.24.x. The toolkit is pre-1.0 and community supported.

Coverage is limited to the open source toolkit. NVIDIA AI Enterprise microservices and NeMo Guardrails NIMs are not covered.

Support hours

Standard support is delivered in business hours, Monday to Saturday, India Standard Time. Coverage hours, response targets and escalation steps for each severity are defined in the service agreement. Upstream response times are outside our control.
