NGINX Open Source

Web serving and reverse proxy operations with maintainable configuration

We provide NGINX Open Source consulting, deployment, reverse proxy configuration, performance tuning, and technical support. We help organizations run web serving and application delivery infrastructure using the capabilities available in the open source edition.

A practical foundation for your team

Our services address traffic routing, upstream connectivity, TLS, caching, access controls, monitoring, and maintenance. We work with your application and infrastructure teams to understand how requests move through the environment and define configuration that can be tested, documented, and operated.

A proxy or web server needs to behave predictably when traffic changes or an upstream service fails. Connection limits, timeouts, certificates, headers, and caching rules can all affect the application experience.

We help your team review these decisions together and establish controlled practices for configuration changes and incident investigation.

What we do

Our NGINX Open Source Services

01 / 10

Architecture and Traffic Assessment

Plan NGINX Open Source around the web applications and traffic patterns it must support. We review listener requirements, upstream services, network boundaries, and availability needs before recommending a deployment architecture and configuration approach.

  • Request path assessment
  • Web and proxy architecture review
  • Capacity and availability planning
  • Upstream dependency mapping

02 / 10

Installation and Production Configuration

Prepare NGINX in the selected Linux or container environment. We configure the required modules and runtime settings, validate connectivity, and document the deployment so that administrators can maintain the environment after the initial rollout.

  • Installation and module review
  • Runtime and listener configuration
  • Host or container integration
  • Production readiness checks

03 / 10

Reverse Proxy and Request Routing

Configure how incoming requests reach applications. We review server and location matching, upstream definitions, headers, and proxy behavior, then test representative requests and error conditions to verify that the routing supports the intended application workflows.

  • Virtual host configuration
  • Location and path routing
  • Proxy header handling
  • Request and error-flow validation

04 / 10

TLS and Certificate Operations

Configure encrypted client connections and relevant upstream transport settings. We review certificate chains, supported settings, redirects, and renewal dependencies, documenting the procedure needed to keep the service working when certificates or endpoints change.

  • TLS listener configuration
  • Certificate chain validation
  • Redirect and transport review
  • Certificate renewal procedures

05 / 10

Load Distribution and Upstream Resilience

Use the load distribution and failure-handling capabilities available in NGINX Open Source. We review upstream selection, passive failure behavior, timeouts, and retry settings, then test the application's response to unavailable or slow upstream services.

  • Upstream load balancing configuration
  • Passive failure handling
  • Timeout and retry review
  • Failure scenario validation

06 / 10

Caching, Compression, and Performance

Improve request handling based on the application's content and traffic. We assess cache eligibility, response headers, compression, connection behavior, and resource use, testing changes for both performance and the correctness of content delivered to users.

  • Proxy cache configuration
  • Cache key and header review
  • Compression and connection tuning
  • Load and response validation

07 / 10

Access Controls, Logging, and Monitoring

Give operators appropriate visibility and configuration control. We review available access restrictions, request limits, logs, and status information, and integrate relevant signals with the monitoring platform so that traffic and errors can be investigated.

  • Access and request-limit configuration
  • Log format and retention setup
  • Monitoring integration
  • Error and traffic analysis

08 / 10

Configuration Management, Upgrades, and Maintenance

Manage web server changes through repeatable validation and rollout. We organize configuration files, review version and module compatibility, and prepare reload, upgrade, and rollback procedures with application checks that confirm the effect of the change.

  • Configuration organization and testing
  • Version and module assessment
  • Controlled reload and upgrade procedures
  • Post-change application validation

09 / 10

Technical Support

Get help with upstream errors, routing mistakes, TLS failures, slow requests, caching problems, configuration errors, and resource constraints. We examine the available evidence, coordinate investigation across the relevant components, and help your team identify corrective actions.

Support arrangements define the covered environment, service hours, communication channels, priorities, and escalation process. This gives your team a clear route for requesting assistance and following an issue through investigation, validation, and closure.

  • Incident investigation and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and integration assistance
  • Root-cause analysis within the agreed scope
  • Resolution guidance and incident documentation

10 / 10

Training and Knowledge Transfer

Build practical understanding of NGINX configuration, reverse proxying, TLS, upstream behavior, caching, log analysis, and maintenance procedures. We tailor sessions to the environment and the responsibilities of the people developing, administering, and supporting it.

Workshops can use your configuration, representative examples, and agreed operating scenarios. Documentation and runbook walkthroughs help your team apply the knowledge after the engagement.

  • Role-focused technical workshops
  • Configuration and workflow walkthroughs
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
  • Documentation and operational handover

A practical approach to NGINX Open Source

We trace requests through NGINX to the application and test both successful and failed upstream responses. Configuration changes are reviewed for routing, header, timeout, and caching effects, with documented validation and rollback steps that operators can use.

We agree the work and acceptance checks with your team, validate changes in a suitable environment, and document the outcome. Clear handover makes the configuration, operating procedures, and next actions easier to maintain after delivery.

Supported Versions and Support Hours

Supported versions

Versions below were confirmed against upstream release information on 15 October 2026. We reconfirm them at the start of each engagement.

  • NGINX Open Source 1.30 (stable) and the current mainline release. NGINX Plus and the F5 Open Source Subscription are separate commercial products and are not covered.

Support hours

Standard support is delivered in business hours, Monday to Saturday, India Standard Time. Coverage hours, response targets and escalation steps for each severity are defined in the service agreement. Upstream response times are outside our control.
