OpenMetadata

A shared view of your data, its meaning, and its ownership

We provide OpenMetadata consulting, deployment, connector integration, catalog implementation, and technical support. We help organizations bring technical and business metadata into a searchable environment that supports data discovery, ownership, lineage, and quality discussions.

A practical foundation for your team

Our work connects platform configuration with the practices needed to keep a catalog useful. We work with your data owners, engineering teams, and platform administrators to plan metadata ingestion, organize descriptions, and establish practical responsibilities for maintaining the information.

A data catalog provides value when people can trust its information and know who maintains it. Automated ingestion is one part of that process; ownership, terminology, access, and regular review are equally important.

We help your team establish both the platform and a manageable way of working with it, starting with the data domains and systems that matter most.

What we do

Our OpenMetadata Services

01 / 10

Catalog Strategy and Implementation Planning

Define what the first catalog release should achieve and how it will be maintained. We assess data sources, user groups, ownership practices, and existing documentation to develop a phased implementation that is practical for your organization.

  • Catalog requirement workshops
  • Source and domain assessment
  • Ownership and responsibility planning
  • Phased implementation roadmap

02 / 10

Platform Deployment and Configuration

Prepare OpenMetadata and the dependencies required by the selected release. We configure application access, storage and search services, and ingestion arrangements, then validate the environment and document how its components are operated and maintained.

  • Application and dependency setup
  • Environment configuration
  • Connectivity and health validation
  • Production handover documentation

03 / 10

Metadata Connector Integration

Bring metadata from supported systems into the catalog through configured ingestion workflows. We review connector capabilities, credentials, scheduling, and scope, and validate that imported assets reflect the source systems your users need to discover.

  • Connector compatibility assessment
  • Source access configuration
  • Ingestion scheduling
  • Asset completeness and accuracy checks

04 / 10

Glossary, Classification, and Ownership

Help teams add business context to technical assets. We organize glossary terms, classifications, descriptions, and ownership responsibilities, with conventions that make catalog information easier to understand and practical for designated owners to keep current.

  • Glossary and term organization
  • Classification conventions
  • Ownership assignment workflows
  • Description and documentation standards

05 / 10

Lineage and Impact Analysis

Make available data relationships easier to navigate and interpret. We configure supported lineage ingestion and review gaps with engineering teams, distinguishing captured lineage from relationships that require additional integration or manual documentation.

  • Lineage source assessment
  • Pipeline relationship integration
  • Lineage validation and gap review
  • Change impact walkthroughs

06 / 10

Data Quality and Profiling Workflows

Help teams use available profiling and quality capabilities within an agreed data access scope. We configure selected checks, review execution requirements, and make results actionable through clear ownership and follow-up rather than treating a catalog as a substitute for source-system controls.

  • Profiling configuration
  • Data quality test setup
  • Result and exception review
  • Quality issue ownership

07 / 10

Identity, Permissions, and Platform Operations

Configure catalog access and establish visibility into platform health. We review authentication, roles, ingestion failures, and dependency status so that administrators understand both who can change metadata and how to recognize operational problems.

  • Authentication integration
  • Role and permission review
  • Ingestion and platform monitoring
  • Access and health reporting

08 / 10

Upgrades, Backup, and Catalog Adoption

Keep the catalog maintainable as sources and platform versions change. We plan dependency and metadata-store recovery, validate connector behavior after upgrades, and help users adopt the workflows needed to keep catalog information useful.

  • Backup and restore planning
  • Upgrade compatibility assessment
  • Connector regression checks
  • User onboarding and adoption support

09 / 10

Technical Support

Get help with failed ingestion jobs, missing assets, connector errors, lineage gaps, search issues, and platform access problems. We examine the available evidence, coordinate investigation across the relevant components, and help your team identify corrective actions.

Support arrangements define the covered environment, service hours, communication channels, priorities, and escalation process. This gives your team a clear route for requesting assistance and following an issue through investigation, validation, and closure.

  • Incident investigation and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and integration assistance
  • Root-cause analysis within the agreed scope
  • Resolution guidance and incident documentation

10 / 10

Training and Knowledge Transfer

Build practical understanding of catalog administration, connector operations, business glossary management, lineage interpretation, ownership, and quality workflows. We tailor sessions to the environment and the responsibilities of the people developing, administering, and supporting it.

Workshops can use your configuration, representative examples, and agreed operating scenarios. Documentation and runbook walkthroughs help your team apply the knowledge after the engagement.

  • Role-focused technical workshops
  • Configuration and workflow walkthroughs
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
  • Documentation and operational handover

A practical approach to OpenMetadata

We start with a manageable set of data sources and validate the catalog with the people who own and use those assets. Handover includes the processes for refreshing metadata, resolving ingestion failures, and maintaining business context as systems change.

We agree the work and acceptance checks with your team, validate changes in a suitable environment, and document the outcome. Clear handover makes the configuration, operating procedures, and next actions easier to maintain after delivery.

Supported Versions and Support Hours

Supported versions

Versions below were confirmed against upstream release information on 15 October 2026. We reconfirm them at the start of each engagement.

  • OpenMetadata 2.0.x. Upstream releases monthly, so we pin a tested version and agree an upgrade cadence with you.

Support hours

Standard support is delivered in business hours, Monday to Saturday, India Standard Time. Coverage hours, response targets and escalation steps for each severity are defined in the service agreement. Upstream response times are outside our control.
